Jeremy joined Sheffords in 1976 and is now the Managing Director of the firm. He has over 40 years' experience of surveying properties in the Sevenoaks and West Kent areas. Jeremy qualified in the General Practice division in 1978 and was elected as a Fellow of the RICS in 1991. Jeremy is an RICS Registered Valuer and works across many of the specialist areas undertaken by the firm.
The firm was established in 1887 by Thomas Wright who opened his office at Kent House Station, Beckenham at a time when the Victorians were building large houses on the nearby Cator Estate, and smaller terraced houses were being erected for weekly tenants. His monogram remains on the front of the rather picturesque building.

The firm was originally established in 1887 with the office in Sevenoaks opening in 1935. The surveyors at Sheffords are all fellows or chartered members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with many years of experience in their various fields of expertise.
This is suitable for all types of residential property and is based on a detailed inspection of the building in as much depth as possible, and provides a full picture of the construction and condition. The report will include guidance on maintenance and remedial works and detailed comments on any noted defects.

I was struck with Jeremy's knowledge and efficiency from the very first phone call. His competence was clearly evident from that first conversation (without patronising or confusing me) in addition to encyclopedic local knowledge. His return phone call really did only take five minutes to receive and similarly he set up the survey with the estate agents very swiftly despite the logistics of lockdown. On top of that, there was no hard sell and my options were laid out clearly. I would be more than happy to use Sheffords if I ever have to move house again.

We had a level 3 building survey done by Sheffords before a property purchase. Ed and everyone we encountered while dealing with Sheffords were lovely and provided a really good service. The survey was completed and received within a week and we were able to discuss findings verbally after reading the report. Ed was even happy to discuss some follow up works we had done by a contractor 6 months after taking ownership of the property. Would highly recommend Sheffords services.

Ed and the team carried out a buildings survey for me and I was very pleased with the service. From the outset, Ed explained the types of surveys clearly. The survey was carried out immediately and the report produced very quickly. I was pleased with the level of detail in the report and find it very helpful. Sheffords provided excellent service. From a helpful and friendly initial phone conversation they explained all of the options available to us and the suitability for our needs. They liaised with the estate agent to gain access to the house that we were buying and therefore no additional effort was required on our part. The report that they provided was comprehensive and they were happy to answer any additional questions that we had.

We received a truly exceptional service from Sheffords. Jeremy's local knowledge and experience of the local area was self evident when advising us and answering all those tricky questions from the solicitor! It was reassuring to have Jeremy on hand, always there to assist at the more challenging and stressful moments of buying a house! In addition, a delightful man to talk to!
