Our Building Survey for homebuyers includes as standard the use of mast cameras to check the roof and chimneys; we can see things other cant. We use specialist glazing lasers so we can tell you what type of glazing is present and when it was fitted then we write a full structural survey and feed back to you face to face at a time and place to suit you. Our individual services can be tailored for your individual requirements including salts tests, thermal imaging etc.
We undertake a lot of party wall work as our friendly and helpful manner helps to make the party wall process simple and understandable. We work for adjoining owners as the third surveyor and as the constructors representative we offer some of the best rates available at ?80.00hr compared with our competition charging up to ?150/hr.

Ashley provided us with an excellent full building survey. His survey was clear, thorough and expertly done. The report was provided in a timely manner and the zoom debrief was invaluable in gaining a thorough understanding of the report. Ashley was friendly and professional. The initial booking process was also excellent - Martin is a lovely and helpful gentleman. Excellent service all around and would definitely recommend them!

This is the second survey that Ashley has done for me, and both times the service has been truly excellent. A very thorough and clear survey report and super helpful follow up call to discuss the report. Ashley and Martin always go the extra mile to get as much information as possible and take photos in places I'd otherwise not have seen (like the roof!). Highly recommended.

If you're searching for a surveyor for a new property, honestly stop your search now and contact Domestic Surveys. They are so popular there was a bit of a wait to book in my survey, but it was truly worth waiting for as I don't think you'll get a better service from anyone else. Both Martin and Jon have been amazing - so efficient and helpful. After my 70 page report and two hour call with Jon I feel like I know my new house back to front.
This isn't just important for the sale, but makes me feel confident that if I consider any work in the future I'll have an excellent understanding of the potential and limitations of the house. More than five stars.

Rang to try to book a homebuyer's survey and unfortunately they were booked out for 2 months - but on the phone they were really helpful, honest and friendly and even gave me names of other surveyors they recommend in Bristol. Obviously great people, can't speak to their surveying but their customer service is top notch!

We had an amazing experience with Ashley at Domestic Surveys. His report was robust, detailed and covered everything you could think of, but what was especially useful was the follow up call afterwards. During the call Ashley was very friendly and hugely knowledgable. It felt just as much a lesson in house design, architecture and construction, as it did a survery report. Would thoroughly recommend and use his services again.

Ashley was incredibly thoroguh and dilligent in the survey that he carried out on an end of terrace 1960s property that I have under offer. He identified a whole range of issues with the main house and all the garages and associated outbuildings, and made sure to write them up in full detail. His report included useful background info on the issues raised.
During the zoom call we had to debrief the survey and the report, I genuinely got the impression that Ashley acutally cared about helping me out with the process of starting negotiations. I would certainly recommend his services to another homebuyer.

Unbelievably fantastic service, still helped me (fee-free) years later. Jon carried out a house survey for me 3years ago and the service was amazing. I relocated out of the South West and had problems with vague advice given by another surveyor. I didn't know how to take the advice or what it would mean for the purchase. Feeling quite confused, I took a chance and emailed Domestic Surveys. Martin and Jon phoned and emailed me back the same day and gave me advice on what I could do next. Best after-sales service ever! I really believe that Jon and Martin are looking out for buyers and want to help them through the harsh buying system. So highly recommend!

My partner and I used Domestic Surveys Ltd after a friend recommended them for house survey. I honestly can't recommend them highly enough - from the first helpful phone call, to unbelievably prompt email responses, to the most in depth survey report you can imagine, to a through and helpful Zoom call to go through everything in detail. Jon was great! We had a full Level 1 building survey for a Victorian property - built in 1870. Jon said he spent 5 hours there in total and he truly went above and beyond. He actually made a 72-page report quite interesting. We had a meeting with him to go through it and he started by saying he wanted to ensure we knew the house from top to toe, and felt certain we knew everything about it by the end of the meeting, and I certainly feel that way now.
His passion in his field is evident and I appreciated the building terminology appendix and his patience with us in explaining all the bits we didn't understand. The house unfortunately isn't perfect, but due to Jon's meticulousness, we know exactly what we're getting ourselves in for.

I cant recommend Domestic Surveys more highly. Both Martin and Jon were very friendly and I had a great call with Jon who talked me through the incredibly thorough survey until I understood all aspects. As a first time buyer - no mean feat! Throughout the process they have been efficient and proactive and very kindly let me move our call to work around my work meetings. I would recommend them to anyone!

We couldn't have been happier with our experience with domestic surveys. Martin was so helpful in organising our survey and really responsive to any queries we had - he went out of his way to ensure we had exceptional service. Jon did amazing job with the survey, it was incredibly detailed and we considered it great value for his depth of knowledge, attention to detail and thoroughness of his work.

We have been so impressed with Jon. His survey was incredibly detailed and he came to our home to discuss the findings with us. He spent a lot of time (2.5 hours!) taking us through each element ensuring we understood, and gave plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. He's so enthusiastic and engaging that the time flew by and he left us reassured and excited about our upcoming move/renovation. We have used a couple of different surveyors in the past and Jon really is the very best- we recommend him without reservation!

As a first time buyer Jon was incredibly helpful to us and really helped us understand fully what we were getting into with our purchase. He was very detailed and thorough and took plenty of time to explain things to us, but also wasn't fear-mongering! He did a good job helping us see the context of the issues he found and helping us weigh up their relative importance. He even gave estimates on pricing for repairs, which was very helpful. Fantastic survey of the house we are buying. Only 11 years old you'd expect no issues, but Jon uncovered all kinds of shortcuts that badly need addressing. In short he's saved us a shed load of money. You'd never get the kind of detail he found withouty the use of mast camera etc. And his knowledge of building tech is encyclopaedic. He set our mind at rest on a few issues, and also uncovered some major ones that a more basic report wouldn’t have.
